National Rum Day is a holiday observed on August 16th where we celebrate my favorite alcoholic beverage: rum. What makes this day even better is the annual National Rum Day Fest which will be held at the Confidante Hotel in Miami Beach this year. For those of you who might be unfamiliar with the event it's basically heaven for rum-lovers. Picture yourself in the beautiful setting of the Confidante hotel sipping fancy rum-based cocktails with all your friends. I can just see it now.
This event brings all your favorite rum to one place, giving you the opportunity to sample over 20 different kinds. This year's National Rum Day Fest will have some unique local rum straight out of Miami as well as renowned global brands such as Bacardi, Malibu, and Appleton. You can enjoy some mixology-focused cocktails and tastings while listening to Latin tunes by the ocean. It's almost like a vacation and the alcohol is included so it's a win-win.
In addition to the centerpiece of this gathering, rum, there's also games like corn hole and dominoes, as well as live music. Some of last year's highlights included a cocktail served in a coconut, a Photo Booth, and cigars being made right on the spot! The event will take place on Thursday, August 16th from 6-9 PM. The best part is you get to have all this fun for 3 hours for only $35! If you want an extra hour of fun plus a gift bag you can pay an extra $15 for a total of $50.
